Here we are, once again, heading straight into the festive spirit of the holiday season with all its cocktail parties, Christmas office parties, annual get-togethers and family gatherings. These events can pile up one onto the other in a blur of indulgent dinners, desserts, holiday cookies/breads/cakes and candies.
I know my mother used to spend most of November preparing homemade fudge (with and without nuts), peanut brittle, divinity, sun-buckles, date- and nut-filled turnovers, and cinnamon rolls, in addition to the traditional sweets of her Swedish heritage like krumkake and lefse which were always on the table.
It can be a very challenging time for those who try to eat in a healthy fashion and make deliberate and conscious choices about what to eat and, more importantly, how we want to FEEL. There’s nothing quite like a sugar hangover to dampen the spirit!
There are loads of strategies for managing yourself through this time, but let’s all be honest: it can be even more overwhelming trying to micromanage the holidays, and hey, there’s gotta be SOME room for celebration, dontcha think?
Regardless of your holiday season food strategy, January First is right around the corner and along with it all of our New Year’s Resolutions. At Eat Naked, we like to start off our year with a little sugar detox – it’s a great way to clean out the system, de-sugar ourselves after the holidays, and get back into solid, nourishing food habits.
This year, we’d like YOU to join us for a very special one-time only version of the:
THE 14-DAY SUGAR CONTROL DETOX
What exactly is this you might be wondering? I’ve just completed it recently so I thought I’d share my experience with you.
The 14-Day Sugar Control Detox is a fantastic way to get your eating habits back on track and kick those sugar cravings to the curb for once and for all. It will help you flip your metabolic switch from carb-burning to fat-burning – the body’s preferred source of fuel.
On Sugar Control you won’t feel hungry. In fact, I was often surprised at being full before finishing my meal. One of the most important things we can do when making a shift in our diet is to eat about every 4 hours, ensuring that our blood sugar doesn’t dip too low and cause outrageous cravings and tempt us toward the wrong foods.
Each day you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner that include healthy protein, fats and vegetables. Snacks at mid-morning and mid-afternoon keep hunger in check and prevent any blood sugar destabilization.
Your body goes through a detoxification process, especially after a month of indulging.
This is the biggest challenge for the body, mind and spirit. Fortunately this usually only lasts a few days in the very beginning as your body is dumping all that toxic waste. I found myself going to bed earlier and sleep was sooooo delicious! I woke refreshed each day, ready and motivated to meet whatever was in front of me.
Using recipes from the Naked Foods cookbook specifically designed to accommodate the Sugar Control protocol, you will never feel deprived. These recipes are so exceptionally tasty and very easy to make – often taking as little as 10 minutes of your time to prepare and get on the table.
In short here are some of the benefits I experienced on Sugar Control:
- Weight loss
- Improved sleep
- Sugar cravings eliminated
- Balanced energy levels
Stay tuned for more information on the detox. Be the first to learn of special discounts and a very special limited-time-only New Year’s offer to be announced in January.
Love this post!
Love it too. Could be especially great after 3 weeks in France, followed by the holidays…….
