Poached eggs. They’re one of my favorite breakfasts. Incredibly fast and simple to make, but a little finicky if you’ve not done it before.
I’ve had several folks new to the kitchen ask me how to poach an egg. You don’t need any fancy gear or ‘poachers’. In this video, I’ll show you how to poach an egg quickly using just your basic frying pan and a slotted spoon.
If you have any tips on how to make the perfect poached egg, please leave them in the comments below!
I LOVE poached eggs, but never think to make them…and they ARE super easy. Looks like poached eggs for breakfast today!!! Thanks Margaret:)
This morning I’ll be trying this method for poached eggs. I’ll have to wait on the chard until I can get to the store. How did you cook the chard? It does look yummy! Any seasonings other than s&p? Can’t wait for the cookbook!
You can just steam the chard (or any other dark green) very lightly for 1-2 minutes. Just until it wilts. Super fast. Then just salt and pepper, I like to add a scoop of cultured veggies (see https://www.eatnakedkitchen.com/cooknaked/2011/01/21/get-some-culture-in-your-veggies-how-to-make-raw-fermented-vegetables/) and yes some good sea salt and pepper. Easy, quick, yummy!
LOVE poached eggs! Been doing them for years, ever since my nana taught me how, just like in your video 🙂 I like to put them over a few slices of avocado – yummy!
I just made the poached egg over avocado slices with fresh salsa. Easy and quick, yummy breakfast!
Love to poached eggs! And great idea with the Swiss chard! Will give that a shot this weekend. Thanks! I have to share this site. Great stuff.
