If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of a protein and veggie-based breakfast rather than your standard carb fare, and a particular favorite of mine is anything that includes eggs. In our last video, we showed you how easy it is to poach an egg. This week, Chef James shows us how to make the perfect omelet.
I love this video because as much as I love eggs, and as many times as I’ve made them, omelets have always defied me. They stick to the pan or break apart at the last minute, and inevitably turn into a “scramble” (read: a big ol’ mess). Then I learned these tips from Chef James and now even I can make one! Check it out.
Do you have any tips on how to make the perfect omelet? We’d love to hear them! Leave them in the comments below.
p.s. The Naked Foods Cookbook, available for preorder NOW at Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com, has several super yummy omelet recipes. I know we’re biased, but we highly recommend them.
Wow – I totally loved this video. The extra little tips you learn are so fun to know and I’ll pull them out to impress at our next meal gathering… Thank you!!
p.s. You look so beautiful and glowy.

Thanks Margaret and James. Picked up a couple new omelet-making techniques here. What about cracking one egg on another? Can’t wait for the next Eat Naked video!
PS: Love the little barker in the background!
I love eggs and have always struggled with omelets too. This video was great because a) I learned how to properly crack an egg b) how to get a piece of egg shell out of the cracked egg c) the importance of cooking the veggies first, d) how to get the top of the omelet, when it’s in the pan to cook. Brilliant video.
I’m so grateful you guys did this video. I have literally been afraid to make an omelet – the task always seemed so daunting to me. This video gives great tips and great instruction. I feel confident now that I could make my own omelet! Hooray!
